Hartland Construction was founded in 1996, and the collective experience of our professionals is over 50 years. We build custom homes and handle interior and exterior remodeling jobs. Our founder, Paul Westlie, has worked in the construction industry ever since he graduated high school. After honing his craft on both commercial and residential jobs, he opened our doors.
As a locally owned and family owned business, we share a common bond with the customers we’re honored to serve. Our motto is “We Put Our Heart Into Building Your Home.” To us, that’s much more than a slogan. It came about because it’s how we see our work. The people that seek our services are like us—they have a vision for their home, and they need someone who can really dig deep and help bring that vision to reality. That’s why we’re here.

Hands-on Leadership
When you’ve spent your life in construction, like Paul has, you won’t want to be behind the desk. Paul is out there in the field with the contractors, with his tool belt on, leading the way.
That kind of leadership has real value to our customers. When they work with Hartland Construction, they know they’ll get direct access to the boss. Paul visits each job site we work on a daily basis. Communication is essential to success. That includes communication with each other and communication with the client—and it starts at the top.
One of the reasons Paul is free to be on the job sites is that our office is in the very capable hands of his wife, Jennifer. With over 25 years of experience herself, Jennifer is skilled at running a tight ship—coordinating with the contractors and making sure everything is in place for our customers to get the best possible service. We affectionately call her “The Boss Lady,” and she makes everything we do in the field possible.

We love serving and being a part of The Coulee Region. We’re proud of the homes we’ve built and the renovations we’ve done. Underneath all of that, however, is our pride in the relationships and connections we’ve made. We serve our customers, but more than that, we genuinely like our customers.
